HCEC at ABS-CBN Sagip-Kapamilya

The values of empathy and generosity are being promoted and are given prime focus in character formation at HCEC. To give the concept of these values flesh and bone, we expose the children to a concrete scenario where they can practice empathy and generosity. By providing opportunities to apply the concept will strengthen the values into the human core which will eventually become part of their value system and character.

Recently, the HCEC community conducted the Share and Save a Life Project for the victims of typhoon Ondoy. The outpouring support from the HCEC parents gave a big impact in the subconscious mind of their children. If consistently done, these children whose parents are generous and know how to empathize will surely become one like them when they grow-up.

The collected donations was so overwhelming at (Grade School) 86.75% and (Preschool) 42.68% rating of turn-outs with -

50 boxes of assorted noodles and canned goods,

2 sacks of rice,

4 boxes of clothes,

2 boxes of assorted items and

A check worth Php 5, 000.00.

With these enormous donations, the school came up with a volunteer team who went to ABS-CBN Sagip-Kapamilya-Naga last October 10, 2009 to bring the jeepload of donations and to repack the relief bags.

The HCEC Volunteer Team, headed by the Student Affairs Head, Mr. Melvin Federis, was composed of teachers and pupils. The fulfilling experience they had as they repack the relief goods inspired them to continue such kind of out-reach activity. It is still a great feeling to be of service and a channel of blessings.

The Share and Save a Life Project and the HCEC Volunteer Work are opportunities and possibilities for growth of the intellect, the heart and the will.

The ABS-CBN Regional Network Group – Naga City with Mrs. Amalia Villafuerte as the Area Head, extends its sincere thanks to the HCEC family.

Appreciation is also accorded to Mr. & Mrs. Leon & Ana Trinidad for providing the pupil-volunteers their transportation, Mrs. Judith Breboneria for lending their jeep. The volunteer team was brought by the van and the jeep together with the school van. The volunteer teem was treated to a sumptuous merienda sienna afterwards at our School Directress’ Residence.

HCEC Dance Academy Dancers on Parish Living Rosary

With the success of the Dance Academy Dancers’ presentation of the Meditative Pantomime of the Sorrowful Mysteries last October 9, 2009 during the school’s sponsorship of the Rosary-Mass, the group is invited to perform on October 23, 2009 during the Parish Living Rosary. Commendable feedbacks were given to the HCEC DADs. The members of the DADs are the pupils who attended and finished the Dance Workshop last summer.

A loving reminder to all. . .

Used Vs Loved

While a man was polishing his new car, his 4 yr old son picked up a stone and scratched lines on the side of the car. In anger, the man took the child's hand and hit it many times; not realizing he was using a wrench.

At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures. When the child saw his father.....with painful eyes he asked, 'Dad when will my fingers grow back?'

The man was so hurt and speechless; he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times. Devastated by his own actions..... ...sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches; the child had written: 'LOVE YOU DAD'.

The next day that man committed suicide. . .. Anger and Love have no limits; choose the latter to have a beautiful, lovely life..... Things are to be used and people are to be loved,

But the problem in today's world is that, People are used and things are loved...

Keep this in mind:

Things are to be used, but People are to be loved ...

HCEC GS - Halloween on October 28

Be among the creepiest, the scariest and the most uncanny creature in the face of the earth this October 28, 2009 at HCEC ground during the HCEC GS – Halloween: A Trick or Treat Party. Grade school pupils are invited to come in their costume and be the main attraction in the party. Pupils who wish to be in costume may fill-up a form found in this issue and submit to the class adviser on or before October 23, 2009. This is not compulsory and only for those who are willing to be in costume. But all grade school pupils are required to attend in their civilian dress. As an incentive to those who will join, ONE ARA POINT will be given to them.

Party will start at 3:00 PM onwards. Pupils are requested to bring food for their merienda sienna to be shared to their classmates.

Halloween Party is a western practice. Why we do it in HCEC? To let our children experience this kind of culture. Stories about Halloween are read in the books, but it will be more meaningful and more exciting if they will experience the party by themselves.
